  • A middle grade sci-fi retelling of The Goonies

Since Zura’s parents split up, living with her dad and older sibling on their cramped ship hasn’t been easy. When their ship—which is also their home—is impounded, and her father is taken into custody for his debts, she thinks things couldn’t get any worse. Then she discovers that her father was turned in by none other than her bounty-hunter mother.

She finds hope in an old letter and a clue pointing to a vast bounty hidden by space pirates over a century ago. If she can find the treasure, she can pay off her father’s debts and keep her home. She recruits her pilot-in-training older sibling, inventor best friend, and her nervous robot to hijack their ship and find the lost treasure. They face fatal booby traps on one planet, circus clowns on another, a narrow escape via waterpark, plasma storms, and more. But with space station agents hot on their thrusters and a trail leading them to planets all over the sector, can they get to the treasure first? Does it even really exist? In the end, will it help patch Zura’s life back together?
